Admittedly, haircare is something that is lost on me. I’ve had it pretty easy with my hair: on a daily basis I rarely style it, it dries stick straight, and I can go weeks without running a comb or brush through it. Anyhow, I am still interested to hear about favorite haircare products from fellow beauty bloggers.

Coco Tai is a beauty blogger, animal lover, and full-time college student, who blogs in both Mandarin Chinese and English. Her favorite hair styling product is the DermOrganic Leave-in Treatment with Argan Oil (about $25 on Amazon.com).
This isn’t as much of a “styling product” as it is a product that makes styling your hair more manageable. The ends of my hair are very dry and damaged from a teenage bleaching spree that took place years ago, and this product is the best vegan-friendly product I’ve found yet. I used to use the CHI Silk Infusion. However, as great as that was, I was happy to find the DermOrganic oil, because it is cruelty free, and it smells amazing! Oh yeah, and did I mention it works well and a tiny bottle lasts forever too!? This product lists very many claims, such as:
- Adds softness and shine
- Protects from thermal damage
- Speeds drying time up to 30%
- Revitalizes and repairs
- Restores optimal moisture balance
…and many more. However, I don’t care about the claims, because it works! Also, if there are any vegans out there reading this, you know how amazing it is to finally find a product that is vegan and doesn’t smell like your local health food store, but rather candy and girly scents.

Holly is also contributing for the first time. You can find her on Facebook and Twitter. Her self-described bio: Music. Art. Makeup. Fashion. Hair. Tips & Trends. From the BRIGHT EYES of a daughter, friend, woman, girl and mother in the real world. I’m a single mom and I have the BEST almost 3 year old son ever! He likes when I polish my toenails… his favorite color is pink but he throws a mean fast ball already ;-) I work in the entertainment business in Columbus, Ohio… yes we have one! I love all things girly mixed in with Football Sundays and the Food Network. I’m still shy about starting a YouTube channel… but hoping to get the courage soon! Her favorite hair styling product is the TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray ($7.85 on Amazon, $4.29 at Target stores).
I love this product because it truly protects my hair from the heat of styling tools. I have naturally curly hair, so of course I want straight hair! I use a flat iron at least twice a week. I noticed over a period of time that my hair was getting really dry and brittle and I needed something to protect it from all the heat that my flat iron produces. I’m a drugstore product junkie so I picked up TRESemmé’s Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray. You spray it on to wet or dry hair and it acts as a shield against the heat. I asw a difference in the look and feel of my hair in 2 uses! I was so excited! I also noticed that my hair had a weird, burnt smell after using my flat iron sometimes and this REALLY helped fix that. The product smells great and you get that “just washed” smell after you flat iron, blow dry or curl your hair.

In an ideal world my hair never moves and stays perfectly coifed. Ideally. Reality is with crazy New England weather- humidty, tornados and Nor’Easters; I need a product than can adapt to climactic conditions but not feel like schalack in my hair.
My biggest pet peeve about most hairspray is that it
- leaves white flake s- yes scalp problems just scream “I’m cute!”
- doesn’t hold – oh hey floppy bangs in my face!
- doesn’t wash out – crunchy post washed hair – ew
I went on the hunt because let’s face it there had to be something better than the Aquanet I was using right? (Don’t judge me it was a bad sale mistake at Target!)
I found Morrocan Oil hair products at my local beauty supply store, and two words on the packaging stood out to me – “Argan oil”. Now if you’re not familiar, Argan oil is pretty magical stuff for hair & skin.
“Argan oil is exceptionally rich in natural tocopherols (vitamin E), rich in phenols and phenolic acid, rich in carotenes, rich in squalene, rich in essential fatty acids, 80% unsaturated fatty acids and depending on extraction method more resistant to oxidation than olive oil.” – Wikipedia
Essentially it’s bomb for conditioning and strengthening your hair and skin, smells amazing and is one of the rarest oils in the world.
I zoomed in on the Morrocan Oil Luminous hairspray ($20 on Amazon or in your salon)that claimed to have “strong flexable hold” & purchased it. The product is supposed to be a guard against humidity & frizz while brushing out easily and feeling weightless.
Upon trying this hairspray I noticed it sprays out in a very fine mist compared to other ones I’ve used. The scent is typical Argan oil: slightly musky with floral and spice notes but not perfumey. You want to apply this 10 inches from your hair. Honestly this is so easy to brush through after. I love that if I touched my hair it still felt soft, conditioned and did not flake! Major points for that! The formulation provides an impressive hold over my hair, I’ve been perfecting my buns with this and loving it! (Maybe you guys have noticed my recent love of buns in my videos? ^_* )
One thing to note: a little goes a long way. If you over do this it can turn greasy in a hot second! Plus I found I didn’t need a lot of product to achieve the results I wanted. So less is more girls! The Moroccan Oil Luminous Hold Hairspray wins in my book. I picked this up for $18.95 – yes it’s pricey, but so worth it!
